Abra, known as Casey (ケーシィ, Kēshī) in Japan, is a Psychic Pokémon from the Pokémon series of games. It is listed as Pokémon #063 in the Pokédex == Name origin ==

Abra's name comes from the well-known term used in magic, "abracadabra." Its Japanese name, Kēshī, is a reference to mentalist and "sleeping prophet" Edgar Cayce.

Availability

Abra can be caught in the wild in all Pokémon versions - but due to its only attack being Teleport, which ends the battle, it is harder to catch than most other wild pokémon.

Information

Abra likes to sleep for eighteen hours a day - any less, and it will lose its telekinetic ability. Using its psychic powers, it can teleport away from danger - and even conduct a battle - while sleeping. If it teleports randomly over short distances, it can create an illusion that there is more than one of itself. Unlike Magikarp - which is also caught with only inoffensive moves - Abra can learn a variety of techniques from TMs, making it easier to train than first appearance would indicate.

Abra is vaguely cat-like in appearance. It has two legs and two arms, but is always depicted in a sitting position, and sleeping. Its colouration is gold and brown, and it has a long tail.
