Anglophile

An anglophile is considered to be a non-English person who is extremely fond of all things English. American Anglophiles will often spell words with a British distinction, such as writing the word color as colour, or flavor as flavour.
The term is also used as a slur for people (especially in New England, New York, and elsewhere) who base their modes of business and/or political inclinations on a cultural sphere that is tied to its social equivalent in England. Although, this has been associated with anti-semitism, it is slightly more true to say that they are ethnocentrically inclined against anyone who is not English, German, or Dutch. The actual truth of it all, however, is they are simply more inclined to favor certain people for their surnames, family relations, and other ties (which are usually but not exclusively either English, German, or Dutch). Examples of anglophiles (in the former sense given) include singer Daryl Palumbo, Alana Wagner and director/actor/screenwriter Quentin Tarantino. And although he never confessed to being an anglophile it can be claimed that Stanley Kubrick was a noted one.
