Buena Vista is a town located in Chaffee County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,195.
Note: the name is given the Anglicized pronunciation, "byoona vista."
Buena Vista is a popular access point for whitewater rafting on the Arkansas river.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,195 people, 978 households, and 622 families residing in the town. The population density is 246.4/km² (638.6/mi²). There are 1,124 housing units at an average density of 126.2/km² (327.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.81% White, 0.09% African American, 0.64% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.73% from other races, and 1.46% from two or more races. 4.74% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 978 households out of which 27.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% are married couples living together, 7.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.3% are non-families. 31.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.24 and the average family size is 2.83.
