Buenos Aires province (BWAY-nos EYE-res, Spanish: Provincia de Buenos Aires) is the largest and most populated province of Argentina. The capital is La Plata. The province has a population of 13,827,203 (2001), and covers an area of 307,571 km². Neighboring provinces clockwise from the southwest are Rio Negro, La Pampa, Córdoba, Santa Fe and Entre Rios. The city of Buenos Aires, located in the north of the province, is an autonomous region and not part of the province. To the east of the province is the Atlantic Ocean.

The province is divided in 134 administrative sections called "partidos."
