Cleffa is a fictional Pokémon character. It was first introduced to the games in the Gold and Silver versions of Pokémon. It will evolve into Clefairy if it is treated kindly.
This Pokémon loves to stick its tongue out and is often seen hanging out with other young Pokémon such as Igglybuff. Due to its unusual, star-shaped silhouette, some people believe that it came to the Pokémon world on a meteor.
Name Origin
"Cleffa" is probably a shortening of the name of this Pokémon's evolved form, Clefairy. Its name also has a probably unintentional coincidence contained within it; "Cleffa" can be split into the musical terms "clef" and "fa". The members of its evolutionary line are known for their singing capabilities.
Cleffa's Japanese name, "Pii", is related to the word little, and at only a foot tall, Cleffa does live up to its name.
