Cross City is a town located in Dixie County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,775. It is the county seat of Dixie CountyTemplate:GR.

The racial makeup of the town is 70.48% White, 27.27% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.41% from two or more races. 0.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
