Fearrington is a census-designated place located in Chatham County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 903. The town's name is pronounced FAIR-ington, not FEAR-ington as the spelling might indicate.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 903 people, 506 households, and 357 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 151.6/km² (391.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.79% White, 2.99% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.11% from two or more races. 0.22% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 506 households out of which 2.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.0% are married couples living together, 3.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% are non-families. 27.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 20.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.78 and the average family size is 2.08.
