Fonthill, Ontario

Fonthill is the Post Office name for a community in the town of Pelham, Ontario, Canada. It has a few small industries, but is primarily a dormitory community. Residents travel to Welland, St. Catharines and some as far as Hamilton and Toronto daily. It shares its name with the Fonthill kame.
Fonthill is approximately twenty-five minutes (by car) South of St. Catharines, ten minutes North and West of Welland, twenty West minutes from Niagara Falls and twenty minutes North of Port Colborne. It's main access route is Niagara Regional Road 20, running West to East from central Niagara to Niagara Falls. Access to the United States is from either the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, the Lower Bridge in Niagara Falls or the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge in Queenston.
From Fonthill, the recent tall building developments of Niagara Falls are clearly visible.
E.L.Crossley Secondary School, a composite school for grades nine to twelve is in Fonthill. Others schools situated in the Fonthill area include Glynn A. Green public school and A. K. Wigg public school.
A series of public access trails are built into the residential planning of Fonthill. The Steve Bauer Trail is named for the cyclist Steve Bauer who is from the Fonthill Area.
