Greece Interstate 9 is the second-longest national highway that runs into the Peloponnese. Its length is around 220 km (140 miles).

Features
It runs almost entirely along the coast of the Ionian Sea and the whole Western Peloponnese as well.
History
Road blockage occurred on this highway SW of Amalias (on the 79th or 80th kilometer featuring the Dounaiika-Amalias Junction 20 km NW of Pyrgos). Tractors were calling a strike for demanding more money. Tractors lined up enough to paralyze the entire traffic between Achaea and the southern Peloponnese. One tractor read Théloume ta lephtá mas, we demand money. There were about 50 tractors and about a 100 protestors all over the western Peloponnese. It lasted between 2 and three days.
Here is the marking going southward for Greece Highway 9. Expansion made it cut to 96 km from 100 km The defunct routes are probably no longer maintained by the federal government.:
