Kelly Slater

From Academic Kids

Kelly Slater (born February 11, 1972) is a top professional surfer from Cocoa Beach, Florida. He was six-time world champion (92,94,95,96,97,98) and took many modern surfing moves to a new level. He also acted for one season on the American TV series Baywatch as the character Jimmy Slade. He was also involved in the X-Games in 2003 and 2004 and has been a big factor that has helped the East Coast beat the West Coast team two years in a row in the Surfing competition.

To this day, he can be seen in magazines such as Surfing Magazine, Transworld Surf, and Surfer magazine. He also appeared in a videogame by Treyarch and Activision named Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer.

In the 2005 Billabong Pro Tahiti event on the ASP (http://www.aspworldtour.com) World Championship Tour, Kelly set an ASP record by scoring 2 perfect 10s in a final. Kelly is the first to have a perfect heat since the two-wave scoring system was implemented. Template:US-bio-stub Template:Sportbio-stubde:Kelly Slater fr:Kelly Slater
