Memphis is a village located in DeSoto County, Mississippi. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 87.

Geography

Memphis is located at 34°55'33" North, 90°8'28" West (34.925821, -90.141009)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 11.3 km² (4.4 mi²). 11.2 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.14% water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 87 people, 27 households, and 25 families residing in the village. The population density is 7.8/km² (20.2/mi²). There are 27 housing units at an average density of 2.4/km² (6.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 91.95% White, 6.90% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 1.15% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 27 households out of which 51.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 85.2% are married couples living together, 3.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 7.4% are non-families. 3.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.22 and the average family size is 3.28.

In the village the population is spread out with 28.7% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 85.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.9 males.
