Nami (ナミ) is a fictional character from One Piece, a popular anime and manga about pirates.

Nami is Monkey D. Luffy's navigator, formerly a renowned female thief that would steal only from pirates. She's quite greedy and hot tempered, but is also very intelligent and kind, occasionally. She is anything but interested in joining Luffy's crew at first. But after an incident with Buggy the Clown, Nami forms a temporary alliance with Luffy. Also, according to the manga (it was in response to a fan's question), Nami's dress size is 34-22-34.

Nami is an orphan that was found by Bellemère, a female Marine, on a battlefield as an infant. The marine adopted her along with Nojiko, another child, and the three became as close as a real family. However, this ended when the infamous Merman Pirate Arlong took over their village.

Because Bellemère could not pay for her entire families' monthly fee for living, Bellemère resisted Arlong and was killed. In the original Japanese versions and the American manga she was shot by a gun right in front of Nami. In the American version of the anime she was brought to a dungeon where Arlong's men killed her off screen. Then Nami was kidnapped and forced to become a Map Maker for Arlong. However, Arlong struck a deal with Nami: if she brought him one hundred million Berries, he would free her village.

She spent several years making maps and stealing treasure from Pirates in order to buy back her village. Luffy was just another victim. After a while she steals the treasure Luffy had accumulated and returns to her village. With this treasure she almost has enough money to buy back her village. Arlong arranges for a corrupt marine to confiscate her treasure and she is left with nothing.

Later, after Luffy deals with Arlong and Nami's village is freed, Nami rejoins Luffy's crew as a permanent member.

In the original Japanese anime, she is normally voiced by Akemi Okamura; though at one point of the series, she was temporarily voiced by Wakana Yamazaki. In the US version Nami is voiced by Kerry Williams.zh:娜美
