Nilotic

Nilotic refers to a number of indigenous East African peoples originating in northeast Africa in the region of the Nile River. Included are groups such as the Dinka, Oromo, Kalenjin, Luo, Masai, Nuer and Turkana. Nilotic peoples are generally very dark-skinned blacks and today are found primarily in Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, Ethiopia and Eritrea. Many members of these groups have a taller and slimmer stature than the human average.

"The Nilotic" is also the name used of a fictional character or creature in Clive Barker's novel Sacrament. The Nilotic was a single, very powerful creature in ancient times, but was divided into two aspects, male and female, Jacob Steep and Rosa McGhee, who wander the earth for centuries, unaware of their origins. At the end of the book, the two are finally reunited into the original Nilotic.
