Sullivan is a city located in Crawford and Franklin County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,351.

Sullivan is located at 38°12'34" North, 91°9'53" West (38.209562, -91.164656)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.9 km² (7.7 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 6,351 people, 2,585 households, and 1,682 families residing in the city. The population density is 319.7/km² (828.4/mi²). There are 2,775 housing units at an average density of 139.7/km² (362.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 98.38% White, 0.20% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.55% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. 1.20% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,585 households out of which 31.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% are married couples living together, 12.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.9% are non-families. 29.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.40 and the average family size is 2.97.
In the city the population is spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 89.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.3 males.

The summer home of Civil War-era general William Selby Harney is located in the Crawford County portion of Sullivan. A private group is seeking is attempting to refurbish the building, known locally as "The Harney Mansion."
