Tak Matsumoto

Takahiro "Tak" Matsumoto (松本孝弘 Matsumoto Takahiro, born in Toyonaka, Osaka, March 27, 1961) is a main guitarist in B'z, and he is one of the most famous guitarists in Japan.

He participated in many sessions and supported many tours like TM NETWORK, as a guitarist from about 20 years old.

Tak and Koshi Inaba formed their band, B'z and debuted in September of 1988.

They also played with the overseas musicians. He also played with Steve Vai with "The Ultra Zone" in 1999. And Tak, his own favorites are reported to be Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Deep Purple, from whom he has drawn inspiration.

Tak Matsumoto his own Signature model Les Paul of Gibson was made in 1999. Tak Matsumoto was added to the Gibson signature artist club as the first guitarist in Asia. He now currently holds the record with 4 different signature models produced.

He has also collaborated in the past with other well known musicians, such as Japanese singers like MISIA, Mai Kuraki, and ZARD.

As of March 2004 Tak Matsumoto is forming a new project, called "TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group)", the band have several collaboration members includes international musicians, Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Jack Blades(NIGHT RANGER, Damn Yankees), Brian Tichy (Pride & Glory, Slash's Snakepit), Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz), Chris Frazier(Steve Vai) and will be more.
