The opening paragraph says this has been awarded since 1983. However, the first on the list is 1982.

arent these types of awards given out to books published the previous year? so that books published in 82 would be eligible for the 83 award, books published in 83 eligible for the 84 award, etc? so that the award has been given out since 83, but the first book to receive the award was first published in 82 (and received the award the following year)?
