Maruoka Castle
Where has this been copied from? Would it not be better to move the original page across rather than to copy and paste the material? -- Francs2000 | Talk (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Francs2000&action=edit§ion=new) [[]] 15:12, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Moving an article to a new page is done by copy-pasting no? easiest way I know of anyway. It was originally on Maruoka-jo which I made. But I saw on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Castles_in_Japan that all the names ended with castle, so after a little searching I discovered that the -jo(城) suffix is not part of the name, but designates the name as being one of a castle. So the proper EN wiki article name would have to be Maruoka Castle. But since Maruoka-jo already existed I copy-pasted the article over and made the old one into a redirect. Is there a reason why this isn't the right way? --Jimius 16:51, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- It might be easier but in order to comply with GFDL licensing requirements should NEVER be done. The correct way to move a page is to use the "Move" link that you should be able to see at the top of every page you visit, then follow the on-screen instructions. -- Francs2000 | Talk (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Francs2000&action=edit§ion=new) [[]] 17:13, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, I see now, thanks for the info, I'll be sure to remember it for any future occasion. --Jimius 17:40, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
