vBulletin (sometimes abbreviated to vB or incorrectly to vBB) is a commercial Internet forum package produced by Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. It is often used to run larger boards and discussion communities. Written in PHP with a MySQL database backend, it is comparable to other forum software such as Invision Power Board and UBB.threads.

Pricing
vBulletin is priced at $85 (per year) for a leased license, and $160 (lifetime) for an owned license to be able to run the software. With a leased license, you can only legally run the software for one (1) year. However, with an owned license, you can run it as long as you want, but to upgrade, there is a $30.00 fee for one additional year for continued access to download from the members area (although the first year is free.) This $30.00 renewal fee can be purchased at any time and is completely optional.

Currently an Unstable Beta, this is vB's next flagship version of their forum software. Boosting many new features like:
- A new plugin system that lets anyone make modifications to the forum without having to re-install them when upgrading the forum.
- AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) integration for easy moderation.
- Data API (Data Managers) for easy third-party software integration.
- Template history and comparison.

This is the current version which is officially released by vBulletin. It has had several updates: v3.0 BETA, v3.0.1 GOLD, v3.0.1, v3.0.2, v3.0.3, v3.0.4, v3.0.5, v3.0.6, v3.0.7

An older version which stil is available and being worked on. The Something Awful Forums use a heavy modified version of v2.2.9 stating "We did more work on this forum then vB did..."
