Ghouls 'n Ghosts (大魔界村 Dai makai mura in Japan) is a platform game developed by Capcom and released as an arcade game in 1988 and for numerous other formats including Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST and Sega Genesis. A sequel to the arcade game Ghosts 'n Goblins (1985, also available for numerous formats), Ghouls 'n Ghosts also has an alternate version, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (SNES, 1991), a spin-off series consisting of Gargoyle's Quest (Game Boy, 1990), Gargoyle's Quest II (NES, 1992) and Demon's Crest (SNES), and a quasi-sequel, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory (2001).

The series is known for its spooky setting and music, its difficult gameplay and its humour. Players take on the role of Knight Arthur, who must recover his bride's (Princess Prin Prin) soul from Lucifer. They have to run through a series of ever-stranger settings, jumping, throwing daggers and holy water, destroying undead, collecting treasure, fighting bizarre bosses, and often stripping down to their boxer shorts.

In the Gargoyle's Quest spin-off games, players control Firebrand, a gargoyle enemy. The setting of the main series remains, while gameplay is a combination of jumping, shooting, flying, and includes RPG elements.

Some conversions of the game, at least Commodore 64 and Amiga, are famous for good background music. For those conversions Tim Follin composed some new tunes and made new arrangments based on original arcade game music.
