MzPzbg Biotite gneiss (Mesozoic and Paleozoic): Gray, fine- to coarse-grained, banded biotite gneiss. Foliated, lineated, locally protomylonitic or phyllonitic. Dominantly quartz-biotite-feldspar gneiss with schistose layers, and locally contains garnet and/or hornblende. Mainland. CLICK HERE view a photograph of the rock type (sillimanite).
