Fractional numbers

This is a table of English names for positive rational numbers less than 1. It also lists alternative names, but there is no widespread convention for the names of extremely small positive numbers.

Keep in mind that rational numbers like 0.12 can be represented in infinite ways, e.g. twenty-four two-hundredths <math>\left({24 \over 200}\right)<math>, twelve hundredths <math>\left({12 \over 100}\right)<math>, six fiftieths <math>\left({6 \over 50}\right)<math>, three twenty-fifths <math>\left({3 \over 25}\right)<math>, zero-point-one-two (0.12), and twelve percent (12%).
