Moenkopi (Hopi Mùnqapi) is a Hopi community located in Coconino County, Arizona, a few miles from Tuba City off U.S. Highway 160. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 901.
It was founded in 1870 as a summer farming area by people from the Hopi Third Mesa village of Oraibi, Arizona. It is forty miles west of Third Mesa and is divided into the villages of Upper Moenkopi and Lower Moenkopi.

Moenkopi sits in the center of a wide valley. It is located at 36°6'42" North, 111°13'15" West (36.111741, -111.220699)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.1 km² (1.6 mi²), none of which is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 901 people in the village, organized into 242 households and 202 families. The population density is 217.4/km² (561.9/mi²). There are 284 housing units at an average density of 68.5/km² (177.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.67% Native American, 1.44% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 1.66% from two or more races. 0.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 242 households out of which 36.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% are married couples living together, 28.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.5% are non-families. 14.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.72 and the average family size is 4.06.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 35.2% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 20.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.0 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $38,710, and the median income for a family is $38,266. Males have a median income of $49,063 versus $28,409 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $11,432. 13.8% of the population and 15.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 15.8% of those under the age of 18 and 4.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
