Monolake

Monolake is an electronic music act based in Berlin. Originally consisting of members Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, Monolake is now perpetuated by Robert while Gerhard focuses on running Ableton. An unnamed individual using the alias t++ has contributed to the most recent Monolake album, and performed live with Robert Henke under the name Monolake at the 2005 Mutek festival in Montreal.

Monolake's minimal, dub-influenced techno music helped establish the sound of the Chain Reaction label, also located in Berlin. Robert eventually formed the Imbalance Computer Music label and began releasing Monolake's recordings through it.

Robert sometimes plays performances over the Internet with Deadbeat, using a custom software application called Atlantic Waves. Robert also sometimes performs with video artist Alexej Paryla.

Monolake is named after Mono Lake, which is east of the Sierra Nevada in California.
