Saskatchewan Place

Saskatchewan Place (commonly referred to as SaskPlace) is the former name of the Credit Union Centre, a sports and entertainment facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. SaskPlace opened in February 1988 with an original seating capacity of 7,800. In 1990, the seating capacity was expanded to 11,300 in time for the World Junior Hockey Championship. One of the ends remains open - if seats were added there the arena's capacity would be comparable to that of a National Hockey League building.
SaskPlace was renamed the Credit Union Centre on May 12th, 2004, through a 10 year contract with the Saskatoon Credit Union Partnership Group.
