A Sybian is a device used mostly by women for autoerotic purposes and sexual arousal. It consists of a saddle-like seat containing an electric motor connected to a rod that protrudes from a hole in the center. Various dildos, butt plugs, and nubs can be attached to the rod.
The Sybian is designed so that the attachment can vibrate to stimulate the clitoris and rotate in a circular motion to stimulate the G-spot. Each of these motions can be increased or decreased with a control box attached to the Sybian's base via a cord. The combination of the different movements can presumably produce more intense orgasms than the user might otherwise be able to experience.
The manufacturer built a prototype in 1985 out of sheet metal on a wood frame. The company has also developed a product intended for males called the Venus 2000 and a product for couples called the Lovemaster.
The couples version of the Sybian, not to be confused with the Lovemaster, can be used as a way to bring a woman to orgasm with an impotent male partner. The partners sit facing each other, then caress, kiss, and engage in foreplay. The Sybian's rhythms are slowly increased during foreplay bringing the woman to orgasm.
