Vejopatis
|
Vėjopatis in Lithuanian and Prussian mythology is a spirit (perhaps anthropomorphic) of wind. Some mythologists add some more speculative material on this personage. According to them, Vėjopatis is the Father of winds, usually described as wrathful, inexorable, evil ghost with a beard, wings and two faces. He is portrayed with fish in his left hand and dish in the right arm and rooster on the head. He has sons: Rytys, Pietys, Šiaurys and Vakaris - correspondingly gods of eastern, southern, northern and western winds.
Also he is master of Dausos. Vėjopatis is associated with Bangpūtys, Audrupatis, Gardaitis, Divytis.
