Catawba is a village located in Price County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 149. The village is located within the Town of Catawba.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 11.6 km² (4.5 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 149 people, 68 households, and 48 families residing in the village. The population density is 12.9/km² (33.4/mi²). There are 79 housing units at an average density of 6.8/km² (17.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 99.33% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.67% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 68 households out of which 26.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.5% are married couples living together, 10.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% are non-families. 26.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.19 and the average family size is 2.58.

In the village the population is spread out with 18.1% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 20.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 109.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 117.9 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $26,250, and the median income for a family is $28,125. Males have a median income of $29,063 versus $22,361 for females. The per capita income for the village is $18,319. 6.0% of the population and 4.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 12.0% of those under the age of 18 and 5.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
