  • Redistricting after the 1980 census resulting in shifting incumbent Rep. Dennis Eckart from the eliminated 22nd District to the 11th district.
  • In 1936, Underwood resigned his seat to accept an appointment to the federal bench. Claypool was elected in a special election to fill out the remainder of Underwood's term.
