Winner is a city located in Tripp County, South Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,137. It is the county seat of Tripp CountyTemplate:GR.

The racial makeup of the city is 89.35% White, 0.06% African American, 9.15% Native American, 0.06% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. 0.70% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,359 households out of which 26.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.8% are married couples living together, 7.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% are non-families. 36.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 21.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.24 and the average family size is 2.93.
